Customer Question

Hello, I just received my blood test results. My gfr is 42, my creatinine is 1.25 and my glucose is 107. Every thing else is in the normal range. What do you think about these numbers? I am 69, with always low blood pressure, and not overweight.
JA: When was last time you had a check up? Have you been feeling dizzy or lightheaded?
Customer: I had a checkup in June. My gfr was 43 then and the other test
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: I had surgery 30 some years ago to fix a reflux problem. At that time, I was told my kidneys were badly scarred but that I had ample function.

This is Dr. Bonilla. I understand your concerns.

The GFR and creatinine are abnormal. They indicated a slight degree of kidney dysfunction. HTN, medications and aging can have an impact in kidney dysfunction. For now regular checks done by your PCP are recommended.
