I had a high fecal secretory IgA on a stool test. My number

Customer Question

I had a high fecal secretory IgA on a stool test.
My number was 925 on a Genova Diagnostics test kit. How can I lower it ? I believe most people have too low a result but mine was too high - what is the difference ? Graham

Hello, this is Dr. David. I am reviewing your question now and will be with you momentarily.

this is not a conventional stool test.

there is controversy over what the results of IgA in the stools really mean.

why did you have this test done? who did the test?

what symptoms are you having?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I was having constipation and some allergies to foods. Genova Diagnostics did a comprehensive stool test and they reported it.

yes, I received your reply.

you should see a GI doctor

you may benefit from eating more fruits and vegetables and fiber to help your constipation.

your large intestine's job is pull out water out of your stool to make it solid. lack of fiber, fruits and vegetables, not drinking enough water, lack of exercise, poor diet can cause constipation.

what foods are you having allergies to? what symptoms are you having?

you should keep a food diary to see what foods are bothering you.
