Customer Question

20 minutes ago I experienced a noticeable downward pull on the left side of my mouth , then a slight numbness but no pain. I've never experienced this before but have had a few random really sharp pains on the left side of my neck/head over the last several months. Is this a stroke? What should I do?
JA: Is the headache episodic or daily? And what about nausea?
Customer: No nausea. Occasional, lasting about 15-20 second s but halts every thing else.
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: 47 yr over weight single mom of teenagers and middle school teacher with multiple intense stressful events over past few months.

Hi, I am an American Board Certified Neurologist with vast experience in diagnosing & treating all types of neurological & other medical conditions including the concerns of “New symptoms involving the left side of the mouth” you have mentioned here and I am very glad to help you with your health concerns.

First I will ask few questions so that I can gather additional information related to your health concerns;

1) Did the symptoms occur inside the mouth, or over the face? Was there any facial drooping?

2) Were there any associated symptoms involving the arm or leg when this happened?

3) Any speech difficulties?

4) Are the symptoms still present or fully gone now?

5) Any history of medical conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, triglycerides, or history of chronic smoking etc?
