Customer Question

Hi: I caught something over a month ago. Started in both feet. Woke up tingling and itching. Over a few days, the itching became intense and I was scratching all over, chasing the itches. It's all over my body now. Doctors gave me Prednisone which helped and Benadryl for the itch. The rash (like chicken pox) got worse and a second visit to the Doctor said its Cellulitis. He prescribed Cephalexin. This seems to have taken some rash down. Last night the itching was intense and I scratched until I bled. Other symptoms, I can't stand the heat. I always loved the heat. I get cold fast, and drink something warm and I'm hot. Loud noise hurts. Does all this sound common to anything? I'm 53 male. Tnx.

This is Dr. David

you need to get your thyroid hormone levels checked.

high thyroid hormone levels can cause you to feel hot and not stand the heat

and can also cause dry skin which can lead to itchy skin.

there are blood tests which can check your thyroid hormone levels

have you had these checked?
