My grandson has malabsorption of b12 and is usually anemic. He is now bleeding from both urinary tract and bowels. He is waiting for dr appointments. What could be the cause?

B12 has a complex need to be absobed ...a special protein from the stomach lining called INTRISIC FACTOR must bind to complex with B12 and this complex must be absorbed ONLY in the last 6 inches of the small intestine ...

B12 deficiency is a cause of anemia ...

The bleeding is of concern that some bleeding tendency may be due to low platelets / or low coagulation proteins. This could be tested with a series of blood tests ...
