I am a 78 yr old female. Diagnosed Type 2 Diabetic 20 yrs

Customer Question

I am a 78 yr old female. Diagnosed Type 2 Diabetic 20 yrs ago. I have always been small, slim, never weighed more than 47 kgs, 5ft height. Never smoked, nor drunk alcohol. Can't understand why I have diabetes with this history. Any ideas please as I always thought that large overweight people had this diagnosis. (?)
I have for many years (over 50 yrs) been prescribed medication for high blood pressure, and my current treatment is as follows:
Metformina 850 twice per 24 hours
Onglyza 5mg
Ramipril 10mg
Amlodipine 10mg
Sutril neo 5mg
Simvastatine 20mg
Glyclazide 30mg
and taking these, in the mornings, my readings are average ... Glucose 110, Systolic 164, Diastolic 81 and Pulse 80. PLEASE COULD YOU ADVISE ME AT WHAT TIME OF DAY WOULD IT BE BEST TO TAKE EACH OF THESE TABLETS? I have interrupted sleep every night, having to urinate 3 to 4 times. How can I overcome this please?
My doctors change many times over the 11 years I have lived in Spain from England and each time I have to have many many blood tests. Latest one shows, Thyroid not working etc. Pituitary Gland problems. But I FEEL quite well ! I am, and have always been sort of anxious, worried type of person though due to things that have happened in my life.
Please could you advise me when to take the following medications (morning, evening, with meals etc.)

Hi, Dr. Stan here to help. Let me answer "when to take medication"

1. Metformina 850mg in morning before eating and at night before bed (about 12 hours after first dose).

2. Onglyza 5mg after breakfast.

3. Ramipril 10mg at bedtime.

4. Aspirin 81mg or 162mg at bedtime.

5. Amlodipine 10mg at bedtime.

6. Sutril Neo (for Rheumatoid Arthritis) in the morning after breakfast.

7. Glyclazide 30mg after breakfast.

8. Simvastatine 20mg. at night before going to bed.

You are taking 3 medications for Diabetes which is controlling your blood sugar. And, your blood pressure is in reasonably good control. I hope you feel well. I am here to answer any additional questions you may have. Please leave a positive rating of 3-5 stars. This is how I am credited for my response. Thank you.
