I have been waking up with stiffness among other things.

Customer Question

I have been waking up with stiffness among other things. When I wake up I feel a kind of stiffness and my skin almost feels like rubber. It is very hard to explain. Maybe that is stiffness and I just never had that. If I get restful sleep it usually goes away after a cup of coffee or a few hours into the day. I also have a problem when I put pressure on the left side of my neck my nose "leaks?" like watery mucus. It only happens on the left side. I had drug problems a year ago and snorted a crushed painkiller up my left nostril. For months after the right side of my left eye was bloodshot red at all times. Do you know what may be causing these two things? The stiffness when waking up and the "leak" when putting pressure on the left side of my neck?

Thanks for this question

At your age, morning stiffness is concerning for autoimmune diseases like lupus or rheumatoid

you need tested for this

It is simply blood tests

As for the nose, I would suspect a deviated septum especially with the history of crushed painkiller inhalation

An ENT doctor would be able to look and confirm
