I am 51 yr old white female. I am experiencing what I call

Customer Question

I am 51 yr old white female. I am experiencing what I call severe stomach bloat. I say this because it's more bloating then I have ever experienced before and my pants are really tight because of bloating.
I have no appetite. It's been bloating for 2-3 weeks more so currently. I have no fever, blood work normal,
CT Scan shows no blockage, no gas or fluid. If neither those then what is causing bloat? No vomiting.
CT Scan showed moderate amount of stool. The CT was done this past Friday. I haven't had a decent bowel movement since Thursday . Watery brown diarrheal . My tummy seems to bloat more right after I eat .i decided to try laxative today and so far watery brown water is all I am passing. Some belching as well.
I can't get in to see GI doc for another week. Can you give me insight please?
So far I tried gas X, Ginger tea, fennel in tea .

The common causes of abdominal bloating would include a high fibre diet, viral infections, bacterial overgrowth in the intestines, diverticulitis, ovarian or uterine tumours, pancreatitis, chronic kidney and liver disease, eating fast /drinking fluids rapidly and ingesting air or swallowing air, lactose intolerance ,diary product or rich foods in diet, fruits and vegetables like cabbage, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, carrots, prunes, foods containing sorbitol/fructose,smoking,eating indigestible/hard to digest foods.Bloating is rarely a serious problem ,use of OTC medicines may help.Eliminating such foods from the diet, taking pills or liquid containing D-Galactodinase and use of simethicone will help reduce the bloating.Regular exercise, avoiding overeating by taking smaller portions will also help .Consulting your PCP/GI doctor to rule out any serious issue is prudent.Regular exercise will help in toning up the abdominal muscles .Irritable Bowel Syndrome and coeliac disease are other common cause of this problem.
