I am wheezing more and more when I lie down I notice it is abated by exercise (swimming). I had a ''slight;y abnormal'' ECG rating 6 months ago but my wheezing has been progressing over 18 months and I am a heavy snorer. Ideas welcome.

If you had pneumonia with Klebsiella you would be in the ICU

You need a sleep study.

Apnea can cause these problems.

You need pulmonary function testing to see if you have asthma.

I would suspect this is probably COPD due to your smoking
