When a Doctor puts on the Lab Requestion for and what's a CBC done
Expert:  TheGermDoctor replied 1 year ago.

The main things looked for are:

the White blood cells- a low number can be from a problem that the marrow is not making enough. A high number is ***** inflammation, infection, or a 'stress response"

the Hemoglobin- Red blood cells- carry oxygen. Too little is what we call anemia- and there are many causes that need to be looked into- too little made, deficiencies of iron, folate, B12; blood loss, or other reaons that blood does not last as long as usual

and platelets- which are involved in blood clotting- too little can be an autoimmune reaction or from medications

Checking CBC is a pretty standard screen test in most blood work as a screen for health

I hope that helps
