Customer Question

A had an ear infection in my right ear in February. Since then I have had tinnitus and constant post nasal drip from my right sinus. I completed a 10 day regimen of amoxicillin and prednisone. What could be causing this?

Hi there,This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.I am here to address your concerns and provide great service. This can be due to the persistent inflammation in the sinus cavity and also the middle and inner ear cavities.Viral infection can cause this commonly. However, resistant bacterial infection also possible. You will need to see a ENT specialist for further evaluation.Anticholinergic medication like Ipratropium nasal spray 3 times daily, antihistamine loratadine 10 mg daily, and a steroid nasal spray flonase daily for 3 weeks can be tried.Best wishes,It was my pleasure to help you today. If I have answered all your questions, Please rate my response Excellent (click on the 5th star on top). Please bookmark my profile for fast, reliable authentic answers! This is the link to my profile:
