Customer Question

Appendix burst in 2003. Had it removed, complications, had 2nd surgery 2 days later and healed. 7 day hospital stay fir appendix. 2005- Colon burst from diverticulitis because I was only treated with cipro, no flaggyl. 10 day stay in hospital and treated with antibiotics(no colostomy bag). 6 weeks later 12 inches of colon removed. Had 2 great years feeling good. Pain reoccur and had adhesion surgery. Next year had lower abdominal pain and my uterus was wrapped in adhesions. OB removed. Next year gallbladder removed, probably around 2008. That's my history and here's my question. Pancreas is not creating enough enzymes but ct shows normal. I cannot tolerate enzyme medications. Is it possible I could have adhesions on pancreas

Hi there,
This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

First of all, That is lot of surgeries.

You may have obstruction to the pancreatic duct from the adhesions.

That can be evaluated by ERCP.

You should see a gastroenterologist experienced in pancreatic diseases.
