Hi there,This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.
Stomach lining thickening is most commonly caused by the inflammation from acid or pain medications ( ibuprofen).
Celiac disease, H pylori infection are other common causes.
Fat infiltration is a benign cause as well.
Rarely this can be a cancerous lesion although your current symptoms do not explain that.
Upper GI endoscopy will help with biopsy of the area.Best wishes,It was my pleasure to help you today. If I have answered all your questions, Please rate my response Excellent (click on the 5th star on top). Please bookmark my profile for fast, reliable authentic answers! This is the link to my profile:http://www.justanswer.com/medical/expert-mysticdoc/
Can you give me more information.
I am a double board certified US doctor and I will have a different answer for you.
I can give you fairly exact probabilities if you will tell me
The size of the thickness
The shape of the thickness.
this should be on the report and I will be glad to review it for you.
This would not typcally be simple inflammation or celiac for example, depending on the parameters.
When there is a bigger concern, as you doctor has done, one is referred to GI for enoscopy to look directly at any possible lesion.
Let me know. Dr. Thomas

Size and shape of thickness do not make much difference and CT scan is not that good to diffetrentiate that.
That is endoscopy is recommended to look into any abnormal CT findings.
Abnormal findings are often harmless as I mentioned in my earlier post ( Dr Basu).Best wishes,It was my pleasure to help you today. If I have answered all your questions, Please rate my response Excellent (click on the 5th star on top). Please bookmark my profile for fast, reliable authentic answers! This is the link to my profile:http://www.justanswer.com/medical/expert-mysticdoc/
