Customer Question

I had a physical today and my doctor did a DRE exam. He said he felt a "hard" spot on my prostate. Of course he also ran a PSA but I don't have the results yet. Last year my PSA was .35. I'm a 64 year old male in pretty good shape. I do hard workouts (and I mean hard!) for an hour and 45 minutes 4 days a week and pretty challenging cardio workouts 2 additional days every week. My diet is extremely healthy - no junk food, don't drink, etc. But I'm pretty worried. Should I be?

Hi there,
This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

Hard spot does not mean it is cancerous.

This can be a benign enlargement as well.

Most likely not concerning.

This is likely a harmless finding.
Best wishes,
It was my pleasure to help you today.
