I have a permanent ileostomy due to having a tot colonectomy

Customer Question

I have a permanent ileostomy due to having a tot colonectomy w/anal removal. I have FAP. I have always had digestive issues & extreme abdomen colon pains. I have felt better since my surgery which was 12/5/13. I do have an issue with mostly loose waste but if not watery then it is too stiff of a texture. I get these horrible sharpening pains right of my belly button very often. The pain usually hits me in the night hours when I am a sleep. These pains definitely awake me abruptly. They last from 45 minutes up to 3-4 hours. I get sick to my stomach, break out in this extreme cold drenching sweat, so weak that I actually have went out on several occassions per my husband, cannot walk without the love of my life holding me or carrying me, then after the time passes, there is a large hard lump of waste that painfully passes through my stoma. Once that takes place, it is usually immediate relief. My weight Is dropping slowly but steady. What? When? Why? How? Is this normal
