I'm sorry to hear that ...Did she have an indwelling Foley catheter for a time ? That would seem to me a common possible cause of bleeding from the bladder ...I would not think it to at all be A DIRECT complication from her surgery .

It is common that a patient needing this surgery would of course need to be under anesthesia . .these patients would have a catheter placed in the bladder ( otherwise they would be incontinent ) urine output is measured ...

The placement of the catheter may irritate the bladder and I would suspect this as cause ..

It should heal quickly and resolve for her I would expect ..
