Hi and thanks for the query,

You need to get an x-ray chest as it seems some chest infection and i would suggest to get a thorough cardiovascular and respiratory system examination as sometimes cardiomegaly can also lead to congestion and shortness of breath. You need to take omeprazole 40mg once a day for acid indigestion, take small frequent meals and you should take dinner at least 3 hours before going to bed.

Let me know if you have further questions.

I have a different answer for you.

Do not start omeprazole on your own.

And 40 is a prescription strength. The OTC dose is 20.

We can not recommend that you take a prescription amount on your own.

In addition, indigestion is not always from excessive acid, and it might be a mistake to assume this.

One needs an exam and a determination of the cause: for example, not enough acid is often the case in indigestion. Food intolerances can take a role, etc.

If your shortness of breath is new, this needs an exam now. Go to urgent care or to the ER if your doctor can not immediately see you.

This can bee infection, clot , heart failure, and other serious problems.

You need an EKG as well if these symptoms are new.

You need an EKG if you have not had one, regardless.
