Customer Question

Hi. Recently I got my lab work done because of the fatigue I was experiencing. And the results said that I have low % mononuclear cells (mo) hematology pol which is 2.4% and RDW pol Which is 12.3 % . Are both related and is it something to be worried about?

Hi there,

This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.

I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

That suggests low lymphocytes --can be seen due to the acute bacterial infection which increases neutrophil count.

RDW is red cell distribution width --measures variation in red cell sizes. Yours is still considered normal.

Hence not concerning.

Best wishes,

It was my pleasure to help you today.
