My urinalysis came back with extremely high protein levels

Customer Question

My urinalysis came back with extremely high protein levels as well as albumin levels. I take approximately 10 mg of lortab per day for pain and 2.5 mgs of xanax per day for anxiety. Could either of these be the cause of my elevated levels?

Hi there,
This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

High protein level means your kidneys are leaking proteins --not normal.

Seen with chronic kidney disease.

Diabetes,, high blood pressure, autoimmune disorder affecting the kidneys can cause this problem.

Hence, you need further evaluation by a kidney specialist.

Best wishes,
It was my pleasure to help you today.
