Black discharge from my vagina over a week. No smell, do not

Customer Question

Black discharge from my vagina for just over a week. No smell, do not take any prescription drugs. I am 73 years old. Never happened before. It's just liquid not sticky. Nothing in pee. Nothing on toilet paper. No pain when peeing. No pain in stomach.

This is Dr. David

black discharge from the vagina can be from very very old blood in the uterus which can come out unpredictably

doesn't sound like you have symptoms of a urinary tract infection.

you should see a gyn doctor if you haven't in some time for an examination to be sure.

if this is a one time event, most likely nothing to worry about.

if it continues to happen, it could be a sign of bleeding from the uterus.

you might need a uterine ultrasound to look at the uterus.

uterine cancer usually causes bleeding and bright red blood to come out and cause post menopausal bleeding which continues until the cancer is treated.

do you have a gyn doctor you can see for evaluation?
