Hi there,

This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.

I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

You likely have severe bronchitis.

Inflammation of the airways from infection causes their narrowing.

That will cause coughing, shortness of breath, phlegm.

Now bacterial infection is also possible since a week already passed.

Antibiotic course will be helpful in bacterial infection.

In case of viral infection, supportive treatment with albuterol oral inhaler, a cough expectorant ( guaifenesin) and a decongestant like sudafed may be tried.

You definitely need a clinical evaluation.

Better to go to the urgent care.

Best wishes,

It was my pleasure to help you today.
