My daughter was showering with me (mother) and I didn't know

Customer Question

My daughter was showering with me (mother) and I didn't know I had gonorrhea at the time. But she was drinking the water that was dripping from around my vagina. Then like couple weeks later she was tested positive with the disease could I have passed it to her?

Thank you for your question.

It is very unlikely that you passed it onto her.

This is a sexually transmitted infection which is very unlikely to be transmitted in this way.

Well since you can get an std from giving or receiving oral sex I thought it might of been passed to her since it was dripping from my vagina. And I read on the internet that the bacteria lives for seconds to a minute outside of the body when wet and warm. And that the bacteria lives around there on the lips.

There are no chances of transmission of gonorrhea in this way.

So you can be rest assured.
