This is Dr. David
mucus with streaks of blood in it can be very common if you have a lot of cough or inflammation of your throat or sinues from acid reflux or pharyngitis inflammation of your throat or sinus infection or long term sinusitis inflammation.
usually blood in mucus from clearing your throat is not by itself a worrisome symptom.
I am more worried about your acid reflux which is worse recently.
you need to calm down your stomach acid with over the counter acid blockers and acid neutralizers like zantac, prilosec, maalox, mylanta
and see a doctor about your acid reflux.
you might need prescription medications like Nexium to decrease stomach acid.
you should watch your diet and avoid alcohol, spicy foods, tomato sauce, oily foods which can worsen stomach acid.
you might need an upper endoscopy scope procedure to look down into your esophagus and stomach to check for acid damage .
you might need allergy medications to help decrease the amount of mucus and phlegm in your throat.
if you have sinus inflammation, you might need a steroid nasal spray to help decrease sinus inflammation.
