I am under a lot of stress due to school. Two weeks ago I developed this twitch under the eye under one eye only Do I need to see the optometrist do you think? Or is stress? Can I take anything?

You are most likely having what is called as myokymia. Frequent contributing factors include: too much caffeine, high levels of anxiety, fatigue, stress, overwork, overexposure to computer/television monitors, and a lack of sleep.

So, yes, stress is the most likely contributing factor as far as I am concerned, in your case.

Does not sound likely to be anything serious or anything to worry about.

Can magnesium supplement help?

A warm compress applied to the eyes (to relieve muscle tension, relax the muscles) may help.

If you are taking a lot of caffeinated beverages you should reduce.

There is no evidence to suggest that magnesium will help.
