Customer Question

My mom has been on BP meds for years and is now being referred to a kidney specialist. My sister and I are afraid she doesn't drink enough water and that may be why she had to go on the BP meds in the first place as high BP doesn't run in the family. My
mom hates to drink water and swears that she doesn't have to because her coffee had water in it!

How old is she? How tall is she? How much does she weigh? Any weigh change? Any other symptoms? Any medical problem? Any surgeries? Any medications including over-the-counter pills and herbs? Any family medical history?

130pounds, 5', no weight change, no meds except BP. She used to take estrogen replacement but I'm not sure if she does now. She's 72.

I don't think her high BP is due to her not drinking enough water. Any other symptoms besides high BP?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Chronic anxiety.

But dehydration (not enough liquid intake) causes temporary kidney problem such as increase in blood creatinine. If she drinks enough liquid, the level will go down. But poor controlled BP causes kidney problem which is not reversal .
