Customer Question

Hi, I have had an ear infection for about 11 days. 6 days untreated. on the 2nd day the ear filled with fluid and has not drained. i saw a dr. and he put me on antibiotics. that's been 5 days now and while i feel much better the fluid is still behind my ear drum and has not drained. he's recommending i get a steroid shot. what do you think?

Thanks for this question

I would try an antihistamine and flonase first.

This will help reduce the fluid burden and help the eustachian tube to open up

Go to steroids only if this doesn't work
