Hi there,

This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.

I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

Numbness suggests nerve related problem.

Abdominal wall is supplied by the nerves arising from the thoracic spine.

So any nerve compression either at the abdominal wall or at the spine can cause numbness commonly.

Can be being overweight related or from trauma to the abdominal wall or from tight garments pressing on the nerve fibers.

Other conditions that can affect the nerves are diabetes, thyroid disorder, vitamin B12 deficiency.

These conditions should be checked out also.

Since you do not have any nausea, vomiting, or change in bowel habits, or any urination related problem this is not likely intestinal or kidney related issue.

Best wishes,

It was my pleasure to help you today.
