Hi there,

when did you burn yourself?

Expert:  Dr. Gehring replied 2 years ago.

If it was just a short time ago, the best method is cooling it down with cold water. Pleas don't use ice, this is too cold and harms the skin even more. After cooling it down cover it with sterile gauze pads to prevent infection. Change the compresses every day. Please don't use powder; you can apply iodine ointment. If you burned a very big part of your skin, please seek help in the ER!
