This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.
I am sorry to hear about that.
hat means your daughter is allergic to several food items.
Whole grains contain gluten
So gluten allergy is common with celiac disease.
Dairy intolerance suggests lactose intolerance.
Food allergies can be debilitating for some people.
And this can be confirmed by a thorough allergy testing.
A restricted diet is recommended at least initially to avoid symptoms.
An allergy specialist and a nutritionist can work together to gradually desensitize at least some of the food items over time.
Your daughter needs upper Gi endoscopy and biopsies from the gastric and small intestinal linings to check for celiac disease, and also eosinophilic gastroenteritis.
Eosinophilic gastroenteritis is a type of immune response mediated inflammation of the intestinal tract.
This can cause several food allergies.
An empiric elimination diet is recommended.
The empiric elimination diet consists of avoidance of foods that most commonly cause immediate hypersensitivity in a population. The six-food elimination diet is the most commonly used empiric elimination diet. Specific foods that are avoided in the six-food elimination diet include soy, wheat, egg, milk, peanut/tree nuts, and fish/shellfish.
