Hi Dr D ,What would cause a 9 year old to say she was dizzy ? Tonight my daughter told me she dizzy and that it happened a few weeks ago too , but I don't know if I really believe that .Sometimes kids don't really say what they mean . Anyway , she has no other complaints . She is behaving perfectly fine aside from being a little tired from school starting again. She has horrendous seasonal allergies that have already started . She takes Zyrtec, nasal decongestants and steroid nasal spray every day .Could she have a brain tumor ? Ty
Expert:  Dr. David replied 2 years ago.

She told me that it only happens now and then and mostly when she looks down at something . I asked her if she has headaches or fuzzy vision or anything like that and she said no . Any other causes you can think of besides a brain tumor ? That's what always comes up when I Googled dizziness

Ty . I hope that's all it is . I have also read that dehydration can do it too.She said it just lasts a few seconds and it feels like the room is spinning . She says she doesn't have to sit down or anything like that .How does a parent like me know the difference between brain tumor dizziness and benign dizziness?
Expert:  Dr. David replied 2 years ago.

brain tumor dizziness would be all the time and she would not be able to function and would not want to play or eat.
