I am having upper abdominal pain on my right side. I have had gas pains all day. This happens a lot. I am not constipated. I have been seen by a dr for this and was told it was massive gas told to take a laxative. I get this way weekly.

Hi there,

This is not just gas problem.

Gas problem is caused by the digestion problem.

Right upper sided pain suggests gallbladder problem.

Gallbladder needs to function normally to help with digestion.

Bile acid is required for fat emulsification and digestion.

Hence, if gallbladder is not functioning well, you will have gas problem and also pain, nausea etc.

High fat containing food will be more problematic.

Please get an abdominal ultrasound first.

You should consider following low fermentablesugar diet ( FODMAP diet) to reduce your symptoms.
