Customer Question

Every time I go to the doctor they tell me my oxygen is low, but don't tell me what to do about it. I took it this morning when I got out of the tub and it said 84. I am on a CPAP machine at night, what do I do?

I take it you most likely have COPD or emphysema

did you smoke before?

you should ask to see a pulmonologist and get a pulmonary function test and diffusion capacity measured.

you should get your pulse ox levels checked when you are walking and see if it drops down to low 80s or 70s, if so, you need home oxygen therapy.

your insurance should pay for home oxygen therapy if you have documented drops of your pulse ox levels into the 70s when you walk or exert yourself.

I'm surprised you don't have home oxygen already

let me know if you have questions.
