Customer Question

I had valve replacement surgery in Nov. of 2014. Recently I have been feeling very, very
tired and I had two pints of blood which did not help. The Dr. says I may be having a
problem with aortic stenosis. Please explain what this means. My count has come back
up and I should be feeling much better after receiving the blood, but I'm not. I am ex-
tremely tired all the time. Anything you can tell me will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your question.

What was the level of your hemoglobin and MCV?

Do you have the blood reports with you before the transfusion was given?

What was the reason given for your low hemoglobin? Was it iron deficiency or hemolytic anemia due to the valve?

Please let me know.
