I had a sonogram done and they found a ovoid hypoechoic

Customer Question

I had a sonogram done and they found a ovoid hypoechoic structure measuring 0.43 cm. What is it and should this concern me?

Hello, this is Dr. David. I have read your question and I'm ready to help.
it could be a solid cyst or a polyp in your uterus.
a DandD will scrap out the contents of your uterus and see
this is very similar to a hysteroscopy which can go in with a camera and scrape out uterine contents and see
your doctors are checking for possibly early uterine cancer cells in the uterus.
both of these procedures are safe and should not cause you to need blood transfusion.
I would do the hysteroscopy procedure which may be a bit more precise since it is going in with a camera to look in your uterine lining
let me know if you have questions.
