I have Ertyhematous mucosa months now and I have done EGD

Hi Doctor I have Ertyhematous mucosa for couples months now and I have done EGD done too they found that I have Erythematous mucosa but they just give the OMEPRAZOLE for treatment but it's doesn't help at all and I very discomfort And what should I do now?

Hi there,

Sorry to hear that.

Erythematous mucosa is a sign of inflammation.

H pylori infection can cause this.

if present then you will require triple antibiotic therapy.

Another possibility can be eosinophilic gastritis due to the excessive eosinophil infiltration.

This is possible with certain food allergies.

A restricted diet is preferred.

High dose steroid like prednisone is considered as initial treatment to control the symptoms.

The erythematous area should be been biopsied.

You should consider following low fermentable sugar diet ( FODMAP diet) to reduce your symptoms.
