Hi there,

There are several causes behind low sodium.

Do you take any medications?

Certain medications like diuretics ( furosemide, HCTZ), psychiatric meds can cause drop in sodium.

Dehydration is another common cause.

next possibility can be diabetes, kidney disease, hypothyroidism, adrenal gland problem.

Syndrome of inappropriate ADH secretion is due to the excessive ADH secretion from the brain.

These causes need to be explored.

Dehydration can be treated with sodium rich fluid ( gatorade).

Diuretics can be discontinued.

In case excessive water consumption, fluid restriction helps.

So the treatment depends on underlying cause.

Best wishes,

It was my pleasure to help you today.
