Customer Question

Sometimes after a shower of hand-washing, my towels (which are light green) stain yellow/orangish-yellow. I have heard that could be urea excretion through the skin signaling kidney or liver problems. Is that true? If so, should I see my primary doctor about it? This problem has persisted even after installing a shower filter and then moving to another state, making me realize it's my body chemistry not the water in my old apartment.

Hi there,

This is a very interesting situation for you.

However, fortunately this does not suggest any liver or kidney disease.

The condition is known as atypical chromhydrosis.

The sweat glands can produce pigmented sweat for unknown reasons.

There is no specific treatment required or available.

If you do not have any other symptoms, you do not need to worry about any other condition.
