The half-life of Ativan varies between individuals, but is usually about 10 - 15 hours. So, the usual recommendation is to wait about 12 hours after the last dose of Ativan before ingesting alcohol.
It is true that the peak of the Ativan is about 1-2 hours after taking the pill, so by 6 hours, you are past the peak, but there is still about 75-80% of the drug in your system.
Therefore, it would be better to avoid alcohol intake at this point.
