Hi there,
This is Dr Basu, Experienced Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.
AST is a liver enzyme.
It is commonly low due to the starvation or long fasting --most likely you fasted longer than 12 hours.
If you fast less, then the number will come higher but still well within normal range.
Another less likely cause--advanced stage liver disease like cirrhosis --liver gets exhausted and does not produce much enzymes.
That is not likely since your bilirubin and other labs normal.
Eating a high protein high fiber diet will help to normalize your AST as this is an important enzymes from the muscles as well.
This is not concerning.
Best wishes,
It was my pleasure to help you today.
