I am getting blood in my stool. When I had my colonoscopy

Customer Question

I am getting blood in my stool. When I had my colonoscopy the doctor said I had some inter hemmoroid issues. Might I be looking at surgery...

Hi there,

Colonoscopy should have detected other causes of blood in stool like inflammatory bowel disease, polyps, or even cancer.

So that is good news nothing else found.

Internal hemorrhoids can cause bleeding painlessly and pretty common.

Surgery is not first line of treatment.

High fiber diet, stool softener like methyl cellulose, Sitz bath daily are proven to be effective.

Even natural supplement Hespiridin also shown to be effective in this condition.

Surgery is reserved for resistant cases like persistent pain, bleeding or obstruction to defecation from larger hemorrhoids.

Best wishes,
