Hello, this is Dr. David. I have read your question and I'm ready to help.
your symptoms could be partially related to excessive thyroid hormone which can cause weight loss, poor sleep, fatigue, dry skin, diarrhea symptoms
you need to see your doctor to get blood testing to check your TSH and T3 and T4 thyroid hormone levels right away
I agree with your family doctor to get your thyroid hormone levels tested
do you have those results?

Hi there,

I have different opinion.

Besides thyroid, more likely possibility is an underlying autoimmune disorder.

This can be systemic lupus, or systemic sclerosis.

Also Inflammatory bowel disorders like Crohn' disease can cause symptoms outside the intestine as well.

You will need following blood tests: ANA, ds DNA, anti ro, anti la, anti scl70, anti sacharomyces, ancas,

You will also need upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy for biopsies of the intestine.

You should consult with a GI doc and a rheumatologist.

Thank you for sharing your concerns with us today. If you have any additional questions or need further clarifications, please do not hesitate to ask. I am here to answer them. I wish you good health. Regards, ***** *****
