Dr. Love, I am having terrible symptoms tonight and wonder…

Well it seems that while my recptors are healing, my nervous sytem is behaving more fagioy with a little increse in symptoms, so I tried gag[entin again and this time it did not make me dizzy but it helped my symptoms. So I happened to take the 100 mgs pills twice. And then last night i actually slept with no benedryl or melatonin (nothing more. I took the second gabapentin around 5 pm.

I decided to not take gabapentin unless i had symptoms that were uncomfortable enough so to not become dependent on gabapentin and I felt quite good today. I felt I was really making progress as this was my fourth night of sleep in a row!

Then we went to my son's home for dinner tonight and i knd of felt something coming on. It wasn't long and I had a very bad feeling or need. It is hard to explain, but it is what i think an addict might feel. It was so hard to sit through the meal and I thought it wold never end. Then I began wondering ig I was addicted to gabapentin or if it did work on the same receptor actually and that is why i slept last night--- that i had fed my gaba recptor somehting equivalent to xanax,

I have never craved xanax, but I had a similar feeling one day afer tking ambien, but not as strongly.

So you are positive? Could my craving feeling be just another withdrawal symptom? I mean, this was tough!

I took a gabapentin upon returning home and ai think I'm feeling a little better. I did understand your response and I hope you are sure.

This was an intolerable kind craving or what might be felt as such ( a strong need for relief!). maybe a part of the brain trying to heal? I don't know, but I felt similae one time after taking ambien one night though not a severely. It is a sick feeling indeed.

I hope to sleep tonight and will let you know if I do. Do you prescibe gabapentin to some of your patients and no-one has reported a similar problem, I wonder? I hope this will all resolve somehow. Keep praying...?

Thank you Dr. Love. I feel relieved. I counted my gabapentin capsules and I have take 20 altogether since they were prescribed Feb. 20th,2015. I don't think I had ever taken 2 in one day however. So, I guess my symptoms tonight, must have been separate from the gabapentin. It is all a lot of guesswork, isn't it? I really hope I can sleep tonight -- no luck so far and it is 12: 17, but only been up and down since 11, but will try now. I still feel somewhat uncomfortable , but a little less since taking the gabapentin. Do you know: is gabapentin often used for drug withdrawal symptoms? Can I take herbs as are in "Midnite" with gabapentin? (lemon balm, camomile and lavendar and melatonin.)

Dr. Love, well no sleep tonight although I almost drifted off. I think its partly because I wasn't feeling well. I read on the internet that it can take from six months to a year to recover from xanax! I hope it doesn't have to take "that" long!

Yesterday, I took in my prescription for doxypin (sp?) as the psychiatrist "wanted" me to try it first. Then -- amytriptalene. He uses doxypin, himself.

What do you think of that medicine? Should it be okay to try? Will it let me sleep without hurting my benzo receptors? I took it to Walgreens but they have to check with the doctor as to the instructions. It should be ready to pick up today. I would just like your opinion (on it), even though I know you said you preferred amytriptalene, before I might try taking it. I know I will be tired today. I would prefer something that I could take as needed, not regularly I think (like tonight when I couldn't sleep).
