This answer was rated:

My vertebrae was compressed with the result that some nerves were painfully pinched. So I was prescribed pregabalin along with other drugs. Pregabalin leads to appetite and hence to weight gain.I have already put on extra poundage so I cannot afford the extra weight.
Could you suggest other drugs not having appetite as a side effect .

I can appreciate your concern.

The best alternative for Pregabalin in your case would be Gabapentin.

It does not have the same appetite inducing effect.

It is also often the first choice in such neuropathic pain.

Ask your doctor about gabapentin.

Hope this shows you the way forward - wish you good health and a quick recovery.

I trust my answer has helped you gain more knowledge and confidence about your problem and in knowing what to discuss with your doctor.
