Sinus inflammation but I was wondering if a steroid shot helps all minds of inflammation. My ENT gave me one yesterday - I assume there are specific types of shots for various ailments?

That is a very good question and, in reality, the steroid is usually the same in most every case (kenalog) the only thing different is where the shot is placed.

In your case, for example, a steroid shot in the knee wouldn't do much to help with sinus pain...

Steroid shots are used so as to give you the relief of steroid use without many of the side effects of taking steroid pills by mouth.

So. What is the take home message? From what you have posted it sounds like your are getting excellent care.

Does this make sense to you?

I hope this information was helpful for you. But I do work for tips so I want to make sure you are happy with me before rating me. If you have another question on this or a related issue feel free to fire away. You may also receive an email survey after our chat, if you don’t feel that I have earned a “10” rating in all areas, please let me know what I can do to meet your expectations.

Thsnks - it's just that I noticed it started wear off eight hours later - can I take a sudafed now?

Yes. Sudafed will not cause any problem in conjunction with your steroid shot.

Don't forget to mash the positive feedback button for me...the one labeled "excellent" is the most fun to push by far ;)

It's safe for you to press the positive feedback button now if you so desire. And, never fear, even after you press that button I don't go up in a puff of smoke -- I'll still be right here to continue helping you, but, as I do work for tips, I want to make sure you are happy before rating me.

Hi - question, I feel some pain/pressure in the inner corner of my eye and sometimes my aches. I am taking medication for a sinus infection, but I haven't had an nasal drainage. Can a sinus infection cause your eye to ache?

Usually sinus issues are felt behind the eyeball not on the corner.
