Crawling sensation ?
Dr. Cameron :

hello

Dr. Cameron :

are you still there

Dr. Cameron :

when did this start?

Customer: Trouble w phone bear w/me
Dr. Cameron :

no prob

Customer: Hello mother is having the crawling feeling in left eye & hip. Afraid it could be worms & is shy & embarrassed
Dr. Cameron :

well, the crawling sensation is called formication

Dr. Cameron :

Usually this is a medication issue but it can be secondary to medication withdrawal

Dr. Cameron :

Other causes are medical conditions such as diabetic neuropathy, skin cancer, syphilis, or herpes zoster.

Dr. Cameron :
In addition, formication can be caused by withdrawal effects when a patient ends substance abuse. Extreme alcohol withdrawal may also cause symptoms of formication, along with delirium tremens, and can often be accompanied by visual hallucinations of insects.

Dr. Cameron :

The best person for you to see is a NEUROLOGIST... this is a nervous system disease, not a skin issue.

Customer: but thinks she has brain worms & said her vision is affected in left eye the crawling issue is scary
Dr. Cameron :

She needs to see a neurologist- this is still a neurological issue, but the crawling is very frustrating

Customer: She has no diabetes or any issues but takes only one medication which is plavicks
Dr. Cameron :

plavix
