What would cause rectal bleeding without bowel movements? I can't seem to get answers. Colonoscopy was clear of everything. Gallbladder has been removed. The doctor called in sick today. I'm scared and frustrated.
Hello from JA
Do you have hemorrhoids?
Any family history of such problems?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
GI colon specialist said no hemorrhoids. No family history of this either.
What does the blood look like, how much, how do you know it is blood and how often does it happen
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
Bright red. Not mistaking this for anything else. I have to wear a maxi pad to protect my underwear from the blood. It is not menstration as I have had a hysterectomy and do not have monthly cycles.
About the only thing that would be missed on colonoscopy is angiodysplasia, which is an abnormality in the small blood vessels in the colon or rectum.
If you have any diverticulosis, this could also bleed.
I would talk to a gastroenterologist.
Diverticulosis would have been seen on colonoscopy.
Angiodysplasia often is not.
