I bit the left side of my tongue and now it is swollen the size of a corn kernel. What could I do without going to the hospital?
Welcome and thank you for the question.
To decrease the swelling, please suck on ice chips or ice cubes. You can also swill iced water inside your mouth from time to time. Icee's or Popsicles also help.
You also need to rinse your mouth with hydrogen peroxide suspension to prevent infection.
Drink lots of water, especially iced water to keep the tissues moist - they will heal better.
I hope this helps.
