VerifiedGreetings. If the liver tests (which are very good at detecting or even small amounts of inflammation in the liver) are normal, it is less likely that the pain is coming from the liver itself. Did you have any imaging tests done on your liver such as an ultrasound?
Thank you for the additional information. Two possible avenues for you to talk to your doctor about is the possibility that the illness you had could be either unrelated or play into this somehow. It is possible that your pain is due own problem in the bottom of your lung rather than in the liver, which could be further explored with a chest xray. Another possibility is that the pain is coming from something like stones in the gallbladder. The symptoms you experienced could be a sign of a viral infection such as hepatitis, but usually this is also accompanied by yellowing of to the skin and eyes (jaundice). Discomfort which is worsening or is accompanied by fever can be a sign of an emergency and should prompt an immediate call to your doctor.
