My wife has last stage liver disease, She is on lactulose

Resolved Question:

My wife has last stage liver disease, She is on lactulose and is bed ridden in hospital. They are sending her to Montreal next week to see if she qualifes for a liver transplant. I am praying but does a person that ill qualify?? One Dr. told me that he has seen much sicker people get a transplant. Is that possible???

Yes, that is correct. In fact, in the US at least, most people who get a liver transplant are quite ill.

I agree with your doctor. Being bedridden and in the hospital is pretty standard for liver transplant.
