Kayfarooq :

Hello there. This is dr kayfarooq attending you. May I know if there was a trauma or any other thing? Is it fresh blood? Regards

Customer:

No trauma. I poked my finger in my ear. There was something brown on it. I used a q tip and there was fresh blood inside. I did not poke the eardrum

Kayfarooq :

That is relieving. Is the hearing from this ear alright?

Customer:

yes, fine. no buzzing or ringing just blood

Customer:

i am taking blood pressure meds. do you think my pressure went too high?

Customer:

could it just be a pimple that broke in the canal?

Kayfarooq :

That is even better. So there must be finger nail trauma which has caused oozing of blood. Blood pressure doesn't cause an ear bleed like this. Epistaxis has certain specific point like nose epithelium.

Kayfarooq :

Yes it seems like a pimple broken by finger.

Kayfarooq :

I am sure you can be relaxed about it, if it doesn't go to pain and other stuff, like pus.

Customer:

no finger nail puncture

Kayfarooq :

Skin inside ear is very tight, and even small pimples and injuries cause a lot of discomfort.

Kayfarooq :

So if you continue to feel pain, you may take an over the counter painkiller, like paracetamol.

Customer:

it's weird, no discomfort no pain

Kayfarooq :

If however, it worsens, then it would merit seeing a doctor.

Customer:

if the blood continues?

Kayfarooq :

yes it is weird, but just take your symptoms as they are, if there is more to be noted, see a doctor, like blood, pus etc.

Kayfarooq :

If there is nothing more, it means it was self limiting

Customer:

ok thank you for your time i will go to doctor if blood continues into tomorrow

Kayfarooq :

good luck
